LESSONS LEARNED /

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM TO DO BETTER.

I recently have embraced this new mindset and I’m finally taking the pressure off myself to create and be present in my industry, perfection is never attainable — especially as an entrepreneur — for the sole reason that we are constantly in beta. Perfectionism can be brutal and suffocating, and I think as an entrepreneur there has to be room to breathe, to take those brilliant risks and disrupt the status quo, frankly perfectionism doesn’t fit into that equation. Our industries are continuously changing, trends move faster than ever from one end of the spectrum to the next, our networks can grow with a click of a button and in the age of digital education, we have limitless opportunities to invest in ourselves. So, we can take the pressure off of being perfect, but we can strive to always do better. As someone who considers religion to be at the core of who they are, I truly see an increase in my ability and ideas as I rely on my Savior throughout my creative process. I loved this scripture I read,

“ALL VICTORY AND GLORY IS BROUGHT TO PASS UNTO YOU THROUGH YOUR DILIGENCE, FAITHFULNESS, AND PRAYERS.”

DOCTRINE & COVENANTS 103:36

What a powerful and profound promise; all I have to do is present my best self, communicate my needs and desires, and the rest will be taken care of. For a long time I fought this idea that religion could coincide with my idea of how a business should be run, for the sole reason that I felt like I could manage it on my own and for the sake of not wanting to create any awkward relationships between current and potential clients.

SO WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE?

Throughout this season of my life, I want to explore and answer the following questions:
What does my best look like?
How I can offer that to the Lord?
and
How I can let go of fear and declare what I believe boldly?
